Last October 21, 2010 my boyfriend and I went to a popular Korean café near La Salle to celebrate our 51st monthsary – the Café Noriter.

It was a simple yet fun night. To start off, we just took a cab from where I live, which is in Bangkal, Makati. But if you want to take the jeepney, take the Evangelista, LRT Buendia jeepney and when you get to Buendia, get off from there and ride another jeepney going to Padre Faura or Pedro Gill or Quirino or Vito Cruz La Salle. Just tell the jeepney driver to drop you off at Estrada Street. You’ll immediately see the Noriter Café on your left because of the noticeable wooden robot on the wall.

Upon entering the café, you’ll see a lot of writings on the walls and paper cups with colorful, decorative and artsy designs on them. Actually for me, the decorations in the café are very simple and look eco-friendly. You might get this feeling that you’ve been in a part of Korea or maybe this was what I felt when I first came in. There are different kinds of tables & chairs. Some parts of the café don’t even have those regular coffee tables you see in Starbucks or some other cafés. Why? Or How? There are areas in Noriter where it’s designed like the traditional Korean setting where people sit on the floor when they eat. Here, it’s a bit more elevated and made of wood. When I saw this, I was so excited to get in one and jackpot! There was a vacant spot.
So we went to the counter and ordered our food. I wanted to get the Mud pie and Mocha Latte and Marco ordered Fudge Brownie Supreme with Hot Chocolate.

Mocha Latte (P120-150) & Mud Pie (P100)
(The Mud pie was soft and creamy, given that it’s also not too sweet. It had just the right amount of sugar in it, according to my tastebuds. Of course the latte was just like any other coffee in cafes.)

Fudge Brownie Supreme (P100) & Hot Choco (P100)
(
Fudge Brownie supreme for me was too sweet, but my boyfriend loved it! He was stressed from work and fudge and ice was just what he needed to get that little escape and little smile. The hot chocolate was great and creamy! A good hot chocolate to unwind the day off. )

While he was on the counter, I just sat and stayed in my spot in awe of the designs and kept looking around. I probably looked like a wandering child in a playground.  I liked the mood in the café. You can really say that it has a unique touch to it but unlike any other cafés where it’s quite and jazzy. This place is a bit loud and lively. I don’t recommend it to those who like going to cafés and enjoy sipping their drinks quietly. Most customers I’ve observed who come here are the noisy ones (most of them, Not all of them). Anyway, aside from the coffee & pastries they serve, they also have sandwiches, salads and a lunch menu. I don’t think they serve Korean cuisine though, it’s just the interior design of the café is modern Korean and also their general manager. I was quite excited to try out their menu. Voila! Here it is!

 Waffle (P190)

  Iced Coffee (P100-150)

 Caffe Macchiato (P120) & Sansrival Cake (P100)

Maybe next time we’ll try out the salads, sandwiches and other drinks.  I’ll definitely keep coming back to Noriter. It’s a really cute and cozy place to relax, meet up with friends and hang out. I’ll show more pictures of the place next time! I hope you enjoyed this post.
‘Til next time and see you soon.
